Position: Business Intelligence and Data Strategist, Research-Oriented Analyst/Architect Contractor

Location: Tallinn, Estonia (Onsite work required)
Contract Duration: 2.5 months starting April, with a possible extension for 1 month
About the Role:
Avalanche Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Intelligence and Data Strategist/Analyst-Architect Contractor. This role involves extensive data strategy development, stakeholder interviewing, and documentation, culminating in a comprehensive data utilization strategy for the next three years. You will be pivotal in guiding our client towards an informed decision on whether to continue with a Data Warehouse (DWH) approach or explore alternative data consolidation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth interviews/workshops and consultations related to BI tools and data utilization with stakeholders across 8 different departments.
- Develop, recommend and document a robust data strategy, focusing on data consolidation and utilization for certain business purposes, incl. set pre-defined KPIs, OKRs.
- Evaluate current use of Power BI and Microsoft data services, and assess potential alternatives.
- Provide detailed analysis and recommendations for DWH solutions and scalability.
- Deliver high-quality, detailed Data strategy documentation to guide future DWH solution implementation for the client.
Technical Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data strategy, and architecture.
- Expertise in Power BI and familiarity with a range of Microsoft data services.
- Ability to evaluate and recommend DWH solutions.
- Strong background in data analysis and strategic planning.
Consulting and Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication skills, with fluency in Estonian.
- Strong interviewing and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proactive, persistent, and able to conduct constructive dialogues.
- High level of professionalism and consulting acumen.
