Job Description

Skeleton Technologies is hiring a talented Hardware Engineer in the Systems Development department to join one of the fastest-growing cleantech companies in Europe, with customers ranging from German automotive manufacturers, leading grid, and industrial companies to the European Space Agency.

Your main goal is the development and design of energy storage systems for customer applications in various industries. You will be responsible for the electrical design and selection of system's components to provide the required functionality and preparedness for integration with the customer systems. To understand and ensure the fulfillment of customer requirements with our design solutions. If needed then consult with external consultants, test facilities, companies, and in-house teams.


Would you like to work with these engineering tasks?
  • Design electrical diagrams.
  • Create design descriptions for switchboard or other automation solution builder.
  • Detailed hardware design for the system incl. selection of the components.
  • Perform required electrical calculations and simulations.
  • Create and develop simulation models for the systems.
  • Work in a team with engineers from other disciplines (mechanical, software, electronics). Participate closely in other product design aspects.
  • Carry out electrical testing of our systems in-house, in cooperation with external test centers and at customer sites.
  • Analyze measurement data and make conclusions for design considerations.
  • Communicate with component suppliers, sub-contractors and customers to find suitable solutions.
  • Study the relevant standards and customer requirements and consider these in the design of our products.

Requirements

We are sure you are the one if you can check the box for at least 75% of the following requirements:
  • University degree in electrical engineering, or similar.
  • Experience of at least 2 years from electrical design work, for example, electrical switchboard design (preferably from practical fieldwork).
  • Very good electrical engineering skills (to be able to understand complicated electrical systems to a detailed level and propose design improvements for the systems).
  • Very good understanding of electrical safety and how to consider it in design and practical electrical work.
  • Very good understanding of electrical diagrams.
  • You have experience in electrical testing and electrical measurements.
  • Creating electrical drawings with standard programs (for example Eplan).
  • Good understanding of other engineering design aspects such as mechanical design and cooling system, software and control, system integration considerations.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and good problem-solving skills.

The following experience and competences are considered as beneficial for the position:
  • Analysis and processing of large amounts of measurement data.
  • Mathematical modelling and working with simulation tools (for example Matlab)
  • Good understanding of power electronics (DC/DC converters)
  • System integration experience
