Job Description

Skeleton Technologies is hiring a self-driven Software Engineer in the Systems Development department to join one of the fastest-growing cleantech companies in Europe, with customers ranging from German automotive manufacturers, leading grid, and industrial companies to the European Space Agency.

Your main goal is the development and design of software and control logic for the energy storage systems provided by Skeleton. Design our systems for easy and reliable integration with the customer systems. Selection of required HW and programming of communication and control functionality for the systems, testing in-house and on-site. If needed then consult with external consultants, test facilities, companies, and in-house teams.


Would you like to work with these engineering tasks?
  • PLC and/or ECU (automotive) programming.
  • HMI programming.
  • Create design descriptions for control logic and automation systems.
  • Creating or implementing and maintaining communication protocols.
  • Design functionality forbalancing and monitoring of our systems.
  • In cooperation with the customers defines the SW development needed from our side for integration of our systems with the customer applications.
  • Select the required communication and control HW to ensure the functionality and reliable integration with the customer applications.
  • Software and control related testing in-house, on-site, and in cooperation with external organizations.
  • Work in a team with engineers from other disciplines (mechanical, HW, electronics). Participate closely in other product design aspects.
  • Close cooperation with SW engineers at Module Development.
  • Communicate with component suppliers, sub-contractors and customers to find suitable solutions.
  • Study the relevant standards and customer requirements and consider these in the design of our products.

Requirements

We are sure you are the one if you can check the box for at least 75% of the following requirements:
  • University degree in electrical engineering, computer science, control engineering, or similar.
  • Experience of at least 2 years in the field associated with automation solutions, PLCs, ECUs, or embedded programming.
  • Programming language (C, C++, Ladder logic, or any other that can be used for programming industrial applications).
  • Proficiency in industrial communication solutions (CAN, Profibus, EtherCAT, etc.) and communication protocols.
  • Understanding of electrical systems and electrical schematics (low voltage distribution, grid, locomotives, or something similar that has a more complex structure).
  • Experience with HMI programming and SCADA
  • Previous experience from system integration of electrical/industrial applications.
  • Hands on experience relevant for the job (SW and control, electronics, robotics, electrical applications etc.).
  • Knowledge about energy storage solutions.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment.


The following experience and competencies are considered beneficial for the position:
  • Mathematical modeling and working with simulation tools (for example Matlab).
  • Proficiency in analysis and processing of measurement data.
  • Good understanding of power electronics.
